What English means to me
I think I was about 5 or 6 years old when I had my first English classes with a pretty blond lady at the kindergarten. We learnt small funny songs and poems by heart, but I didn't feel exactly in love with this foreign language. Then, during the years spent in school, I met two teachers of English. Unfortunately they didn't try hard enough to make their classes interesting, we weren't involved in projects like other pupils in our school and the English book became just a liveless object.
It's just all of a sudden that the big change has occured: I have recently started to play online computer games and I have felt the need to communicate with membres of the groups from other countries, in order to be in the top of the game. Little by little, I have started to find the courage to speak English and even to make friends all over the world. I'm happy that I can understand the words of my favourite songs now and I have even begun to read short stories in English.
It's such a beautiful musical language, I'm sure I'll keep on studying it at school with more interest.
