On March 26, 1949 in New Selistea village, Calarasi district, held the founding meeting of kolkhoz, and the next day in the village were found two leaflets with anti-communist. The first was found in the yard of the village Soviet President, and the second - the fountain near the cultural center where the meeting had taken place the previous day. A year militiamen needed to identify the author.
Gulevatâi Basil was born in 1929 in New Selistea town, county Lăpuşna. By collectivization, Gulevatâi family owned six hectares of arable land, two oxen, sheep and pigs. Basil had three brothers and a sister. That spring he taught in 7th grade at a school in Calarasi.
